Greg Mortenson, was hiking the second highest mountain in the world in 1993, but in result he failed. When going down the mountain after failing the climb he wondered away from his group and ended up finding a little town in Pakistan where poverty existed. When he was staying in the town, he observed the kids and noticed they were doing their studies on pieces of wood. He had promised that he would return to build them a school. In 1996 Greg came back to build the first school in the little town of Pakistan as a director to the Central Asian Institute (CAI) many more schools have been built since then. His main goal is to educate kids but especially girls or women according to the video an education up to 5th grade would be enough to help them survive. Greg quoted "We can drop bombs, we can hand out condoms, build roads, put in electricity but until the girls are educated society won’t change". The CIA also educated these towns about health and install clean drinking water systems throughout these towns. He is a person to look up to because he motivated a region to learn and be educationally stimulated. Greg talks about three cups of tea to do business, when you are giving first cup of tea you're a stranger, the second cup of tea you become a friend and the third cup of tea you become family but it takes times. If I’m not mistaken Greg uses the phrase “it takes time” a various times so maybe he is trying to make a statement that everything takes time in life we all just have to be patience and the will or set a goal to do something you just put your mind to it.
