In the Middle East there have been conflicts between a nation’s government and the nation’s citizens. We experienced the revolution in Egypt and the resignation of Mubarak as president because of the peaceful protest. Now we are experiencing Libya under this tidal wave of protesting and attempting to overthrow the government. The thing is that with Libya the protest turned violent and into the stages of civil war. Qaddafi the current ruler of Libya has been ruling for over 40 years. The nation is not the brightest and the citizens aren’t the happiest. Another thing from Qaddafi that makes it complicated to deal with is that he doesn’t care what other say about his ruling therefore he will do whatever he wants whenever he wants however he does. What Qaddafi has done is crossed the line, when he attacked his nation, his “people” and from this action taken by Qaddafi there has been much controversy between the United Nations and Libya’s government. Rumors have spread about the U.S. entering into war with Libya but it’s not recommended for the U.S. to make this decision due to the relationships economically and Al-Qaida issues. So far many deaths have been marked more than 200 casualties and counting since the beginning of these protest and damages are increasing. What Libyan citizens want from this is to overthrow the ruler Qaddafi and have democratic elections. Hopefully this result pulls through for the Libyans and Middle East nations that are living the way they are supposed to.
i'm doing my paper on Egypt, so i was interested in yours because i didn't really realize what libya was going through. Hopefully things do work out for them because all these deaths are so uncalled and making the situation even worse. It sucks they have to use violence in ordr to get peace, hopefully they can begin to use a more non violence appeal.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is awesome,i like it because it is breif but it gives all the information.I am also doing libya and I dont like the fact that innocent people are dying in Libya yet the leaders are not willing to make a change.
ReplyDeletewow that is amazing whats happening in libya i had no idea what was happening over there.
ReplyDeleteIf it happens in one place it starts to happen all around it would just be so much better to obtain thing like this with no violence from either side.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that ole homeboy crossed the line. Hopefully, Libya will be able to realize peace and maybe one day become a democracy.
ReplyDeleteI really hope the rebels are able to organize and overthrow Qudaffi. I believe we should help them somehow, but not as far as committing troops.
ReplyDeleteI think Libya will realize peace soon enough. People always resort to violence to get what they want but don;t realize you cant get peace from violence, it just gives more peace. I hope Libya will be able to see that and a democracy will work for them.
